THE WOODLANDS, TX – On this back-to-the-grindstone Friday, the weather is playing nice to help ease us back into the post-holiday worlds of work and school. But don’t be fooled, this is our last such pretty day for a while, as darkness looms over the weekend.

High pressure and higher humidity will raise the heat for a stormy weekend

We’ll enjoy this Friday with nary a cloud in the sky all day, and the sun will help raise the high temp into the upper 70s, but steadily increasing winds will make it feel cooler. Come nightfall, however, the winds will die, the temps will drop, and the clouds will come. If you feel like warming it up this evening, head over to Dosey Doe - The Big Barn to catch Bri Bagwell on the stage. Overnight we’ll have a slight chance of rain as the low hits 61.

Saturday will be in stark contrast to the day before, however, as the clouds keep coming, and with them a significant amount of rain and thunder. Chances are you won’t notice the sunset because the skies will be too grey and the thunderstorms at their peak. Any late-night plans should best be considered as ‘indoor only’ – in fact, you can defy the storm gods and keep the holiday spirit in indoor comfort going by strapping on a pair of blades at The Ice Rink.

The rains and up-and-down winds will get us into a Saturday/Sunday overnight low of a chilly 50. Sunday will dawn still cloudy and rainy, with the storms keeping up through midmorning. Our high of 63 will come mid-afternoon as the clouds and precipitation finally wander away. Prepare for warmer and drier weather by registering your kiddos for spring soccer camps at TFC Total Football Club. We’ll actually hit the mid 40s for our low, but it should be relatively calm. That is, until more rain decides to hit us on Monday…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
