THE WOODLANDS, TX – We’re just a few weeks away from one of The Woodlands’ most colorful, enjoyable, and artsy events, the 2023 Fidelity Investments The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, presented by The Woodlands Arts Council. This three-day event will bring in art lovers by the droves on April 14 - 16 all along The Woodlands Waterway and Town Green Park.

All festival proceeds go towards art educational outreach programs

This year’s featured artist is Cathra-Anne Barker of Santa Fe, New Mexico, a self-taught potter with 50 years of experience. Her work is inspired by plants, travel, fabric, song, and more. Her background also includes painting and drawing.

Attendees to the festival will be able to enjoy an outdoor jury-selected fine arts show featuring more than 200 local, national, and international artists selling their original art in a variety of mediums. In its 18th year, the festival also features art activities for all ages, live music, entertainment, and food and beverages throughout the weekend. The festival is ranked among the top fine arts festivals in the country and winner of “Best Event in The Woodlands” 11 years in a row.

While this event is – on the surface – the perfect way to experience and enjoy art in all its forms, it’s slightly less well known that all of the proceeds of the festival go towards art educational outreach programs.

“This festival is The Woodlands Arts Council’s largest fundraiser of the year. A successful festival means we can continue strengthening our Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant, Artist Microgrant, and Student Art Scholarship Programs,” said Jenny Carattini-Wright, executive director of The Woodlands Arts Council. “Through these programs, in our last giving cycle, we gave away $90,000. We are so thankful to everyone who purchases a ticket to our festival - their support of our creative economy helps make art matter in Montgomery County every day.”

Passes to the festival are available for purchase online only. A VIP Weekend pass costs $200, with general admission weekend passed only $28. A day ticket for Friday costs $11 per adult; day tickets for Saturday or Sunday cost $16 adult / $11 student/military/senior, Children 12 & under are admitted free.

The pre-festival fun features the Art Dash Party, presented by The Woodlands Compounding Pharmacy, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center on the evening of Friday, April 14. Art Dash Party entry tickets cost $150 each, with the 60-Second Art Dash tickets $250 each extra.
