UPDATE: MCTX Sheriff Investigates Shooting on Rayford Road

SPRING, TX -- After a lengthy investigation, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives identified the shooting suspect as 20-year-old Davaun Harrison from Spring, TX. With the help of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, Harrison was arrested this afternoon for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

On August 8, 2023, at approximately 10:20 pm, Deputies responded to an assault with a firearm call at the 2900 block of Rayford Road, Conroe Texas. The 911 caller advised an 18 year old male had been shot and was waiting at a local gas station for help. Upon arrival, first responders provided medical aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene and are currently conducting their investigation.

This is an isolated incident with no threat to the public. This investigation is still active, and no further information is available for release.
