Dinner for Justice Raises More Than $150,000 for Community Christian Legal Aid

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Over $150,000 to support Community Christian Legal Aid. In addition to dinner at the Woodlands Country Club, the event included both live and silent auctions as well as a paddle raise with a $15,000 match.

The event included a story of one of CCLA’s clients shared by Patrick O’Hara, the board chair of CCLA who challenged the audience to support more clients who cannot afford legal services in the community. His challenge was successfully met including a $15,000 paddle raise by Judy and Bruce Tyler, and a $5,000 paddle raise by Michael and Marissa Rahn.

Sponsors included: $10,000 – Soulful Shift; $5,000 – O’Hara Law Firm, The Sum, Texas Capital Bank, and Tommie and Wade Henderson; $2,500 – C.W. Henderson Electric, Janet Black, Bruce and Judy Tyler, and Hubbs Law Firm; $1,500 – BCBH Law Firm and Monica Brashear with Sotheby’s Realty.

Proceeds benefited Community Christian Legal Aid (CCLA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to free our neighbors from legal burdens in Jesus’ name. Services include a free legal consultation for neighbors making 400% below the federal poverty level and limited to full legal representation for neighbors making 250% below the federal poverty level in the areas of family law, guardianship, kinship adoption, debt defense and family immigration.
