Montgomery County Food Bank breaks outreach record for second month in a row
THE WOODLANDS, TX – In October, the Montgomery County Food Bank supported 93,163 client contacts through their network of more than 80 partner agencies, marking the second-highest monthly outreach in the food bank's history. But, as anticipated, November saw an even greater impact, with 95,856 client contacts served, once again breaking the record.
"Thanks to our generous community, these hungry children, seniors, and families received nutritious food during their time of need," said the food bank in a statement. "We thank you for being involved in an integral part of our mission."
November's impact included:
- 786,294 total meals served
- 95,856 client contacts served
- 383,920 lbs of produce served
- 1,210,203 total lbs of food served
Additionally, local residents can share even more help and hope for the holidays. All gifts to Montgomery County Food Bank will be doubled by United Way of Greater Houston, Woodforest National Bank, Southwestern Energy, and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, up to $95,000. This is the food bank's biggest matching challenge ever, and ever $1 donated will provide up to eight meals for those in need.
