THE WOODLANDS, TX – New Danville, a Montgomery County-based nonprofit organization that provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities an opportunity to live enriched and purposeful lives, has announced that it has hired Kathy Rifaat as its new Director of Development.

With almost 30 years of nonprofit experience, Kathy most recently served as Director of Development for the Montgomery County Food Bank. Prior to her role at the Food Bank, Kathy served as Development Director of the Community Assistance Center in Conroe. Kathy's nonprofit experience includes work at the Lighthouse of Houston, Interfaith of The Woodlands, and Interfaith Community Clinic.

"I am thrilled to be joining the New Danville family," said Rifaat in a statement. "This incredibly special place exudes joy, hope, kindness, and excitement every day. My role on the team is to enhance support and awareness of the work we do as an organization and to identify and secure funding for programs and operations through grants, community donations, and special fundraising events. I look forward to further engaging the whole community and sharing the incredible impact of New Danville."

Kathy holds a Bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and has been a resident of The Woodlands for more than 20 years. Since 2005, she has volunteered with The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. With the Chamber, she served as a member of the Board of Directors and Team Leader for both the Community Relations Team and Chairman’s Ball.
