Montgomery County Sheriff runoff election early voting is this week

THE WOODLANDS, TX – In what could easily be the shortest amount of time spent in a voting booth for many, the runoff election for the 2024 Primary Election for Sheriff of Montgomery County is happening this week, Monday, May 20 - Friday, May 24, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. each day. Election Day for the runoff between incumbent Sheriff Rand Henderson and challenger Wesley Doolittle will take place Tuesday, May 28.

In the March 5 primary, Henderson got 49.9 of the vote, Doolittle received 42.2 percent, and third-place opponent Kenton Ford garnered 3.9 percent of the vote. As no one received a majority vote of more than 50.1 percent, the runoff election was called.

For the early voting period of this sole one-office, two-man race, voters can cast their ballots at any of these locations:

  • North Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald Street, Willis 77378 – Meador Room
  • Lone Star Community Center (Not the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe), 2500 Lone Star Parkway, Montgomery 77356 – Cissy Boulware Room
  • West Montgomery County Community Development Center, 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia 77355 – Green Room
  • East Montgomery County Fair Association Building,21675A McCleskey Road, New Caney 77357 – Main Room
  • South County Community Center, 2235 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands 77380 – Room 102
  • Central Library (Main Early Voting Polling Place - Limited Ballots), 104 I-45 North, Conroe 77301 – Large Meeting Room
  • Magnolia Event Center, 11659 FM 1488, Magnolia 77354 – LGI 1
  • Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center, 1300 Riley Fuzzel Road, Spring 77386 – Community Center

Special forms of early voting and ballot by mail are available only at Election Central, 9159 Airport Road, Conroe 77303 in the foyer.

On Election Day, voters will have to cast their ballots at their official precinct polling location. Additionally, Conroe residents will soon have to vote in the mayoral and city council runoff elections. Stay tuned to Woodlands Online for election coverage.
