THE WOODLANDS, TX – Cindy Heiser, the current Position 7 board member for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, has announced she is running to retain the seat in the upcoming November elections.

Heiser was elected to the board in 2023, beating Ann Perry and Thomas Chumbley with 54 percent of the vote in a three-way race. With filing for Township board positions commencing two days ago on Saturday, Heiser today formally announced her reelection on her official social media site.

Speaking to Woodlands Online exclusively when reached for comment, Heiser said, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be running for reelection and look forward to continuing to serve our wonderful community.

In her two-year term so far, Heiser has established guidelines with law enforcement for handling homeless individuals more effectively; worked and collaborated with elected officials to create, support, and pass a state bill eliminating panhandling in the county; reached the lowest tax rate in The Woodlands Township’s history; managed project process to create the 50th Anniversary Waterway Mural; and advocated for flood management funding to protect residents and businesses.

In the community outside of her Township board duties, Heiser also serves on The Woodlands Art Council Board, served on the 2023 CISD Bond Committee, and is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County. She is also the current president of The Woodlands chapter of Rotary International.

“The past two years have been a true blessing and an incredible opportunity to contribute to the future of The Woodlands. Together, we have built upon the strong foundation laid by the Directors who came before us,” Heiser told Woodlands Online. “I want to sincerely thank the residents of The Woodlands for trusting me with this important responsibility.”
