Dr. Jeanie McCusker brings over 20 years of experience  as a Mental Health and School Counselor. She holds a  BA in Speech Communication and Spanish from The University of Tennessee, MA in Mental Health Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University and an EdD in Counseling from The University of Memphis as well as a  Certification as a College Access Counselor from RiceUniversity. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Texas Certified School Counselor and Certified College Access Counselor. With experiences in both public and private schools (elementary, junior high and high school), as well as Mental Health Counseling settings, Dr. McCusker has a vast range of experience including serving as an adjunct professor of graduate Counseling courses for 10 years at SFA, being a grade level School Counselor, private school Counselor, College & Career Counselor, International Baccalaureate Counselor, Crisis Counselor, 504 accommodations and private practice Counselor. 

Dr. McCusker specializes in Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism, life transitions and addition al scenarios that life provides. She sees age 12 + through adulthood. 

As the mother of 3 children (one in junior high, one in high school and one in college), Dr. McCusker has empathy for and understands the challenges that students and parents  face in today’s educational systems and can work with both students and parents on navigating these years.
