Tropical Storm Edouard update 9/1/26 @ 7:00 AM
Tropical Storm Edouard continues to approach the Texas gulf coast with expected landfall in Jefferson County later today. With north west movement.
No significant wind is expected but we may see gusty winds from 25 to 30 mph this afternoon especially east of 45.
This will be a rain event. 3-5 inches expected east of 45 with isolated amounts even higher from 6-9 inches are possible.
West of 45 1-3 inches expected with higher amounts possible depending on where heavier rain bands develop.
Topical downpours are likely this afternoon into Wednesday. The heaviest rain is forecast for later today into Wednesday morning but that is also track dependent.
While rain is currently a welcomed sight we need to remain vigilant as tropical systems can produce flash flooding very quickly.
This system is not expected to linger or slow down which will limit the extended flash flooding threat to later today and overnight into Wednesday morning.
Stay weather aware. Remember to turn around don’t drown.
