THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- After a memorable performance where The Highlanders scored a season-high 72 points last season against West Brook, The Woodlands hopes to have a similar effort against the Bruins as they come into Woodforest Stadium Thursday Oct. 12.

The Highlanders have a lot of momentum coming into what will be their toughest task of the season. After an impressive win in Lufkin, The Woodlands has a chance to show why they should be your choice to win district 12-6A.

The Woodlands struggled in the first half against Lufkin, and cannot do the same against West Brook. In their last game against College Park, West Brook scored 44 points in the first half. Expect The Highlanders to run the ball a lot early in hopes of opening up their passing game.

Wide Receiver KeSean Carter had trouble putting much together against Lufkin and will have to be key to a Highlander victory this weekend. Carter had a touchdown in The Highlanders blowout win over the Bruins last season.

West Brook is undefeated and The Woodlands will have to play near to perfect on both sides of the ball if they’re looking to stay perfect in district play. Quarterback Quinton Johnson will have to make sure to not turn the ball over, and play smart football.

I do not see The Highlanders blowing the Bruins out this year, but I am predicting a win for the home team. I feel both offenses will be firing on all cylinders this week and my prediction for the final score is The Woodlands 40-34.

Join us at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 live from Woodforest Bank Stadium. This game is presented by The Woodlands Dental Group, with replays by Hal Watson Air Conditioning.
