THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) welcomed a record 655 students into the 2018-19 school year, Wednesday, August 15. Led by Head of School Julie Ambler, TWCA is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary, and the school is thriving.

“At Woodlands Christian, we value relationships with our students, families, faculty and staff,” she said. “Welcoming our Warrior community back to campus has been like a family reunion celebration.”

From humble beginnings in 1993, operating out of a rented church facility, TWCA now boasts a sprawling 40-acre campus. A successful Capital Campaign resulted in $8.4 million in gifts and pledges, and allowed for the school to begin construction on a 3 story, state of the art, dedicated high school building this summer. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2019.

While the landscape continues to expand, their mission has remained the same—to educate the next generation of Christian leaders, spiritually, academically, physically and socially. Students in PreK – 12th grade benefit from a vertically aligned curriculum and fair extremely well against their peers in academic contest throughout the year.

Most recently, 7 high school students qualified to participate in the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions, held at Yale University this November. Participation was granted after an impressive showing in the global round of competition, held in Barcelona, Spain in July. The World Scholar’s Cup reaches 10’s of thousands of students in dozens of countries and is designed to inspire of global community of future scholars and leaders.

Club sponsor and TWCA English teacher, Crystal Chapman, said the participating students worked incredibly hard to prepare for their performance on a global stage.

“I am so grateful to the past leaders who taught these students and built in them a foundation of scholarship,” she said. “I thank our families for valuing the experience and education a trip abroad affords. And, most importantly, I thank these students who spent so much extra time studying on top of all of their other commitments; they are amazing!”

The Woodlands Christian Academy is a PreK – 12th grade college preparatory school that integrates learning with biblical faith and challenges students to reach their highest potential - spiritually, academically, physically and socially. For more information visit twca.net.
