THE WOODLANDS, TX - Junior Forums of Texas members partnered with Dress for Success and Christian Community Service Center to provide assistance to 200 women in the Houston community. The chapters stuffed 100 purses for Dress for Success, which aids women entering the work force, and 100 emergency bags for women in need through Christian Community Service Center.

Each year Junior Forum members meet in February for a state convention or retreat to help raise funds for the host and state organizations. This year’s convention, held on February 23 at the Hilton Post Oak in Houston, featured a silent auction, a keynote speaker, educational sessions, and round table discussions. Attendees also participated in an annual state service project, “Boxed,” that benefits an organization of the host chapter’s choosing.

Junior Forum chapters throughout the state promote volunteerism among women by providing an outlet for them to serve their communities by helping children, families, and senior adults. Currently nine chapters serve the State of Texas including Austin, Baytown, Cypress-Woodlands, Dallas, Georgetown, Houston, Nacogdoches, Pasadena Bay Area, and San Antonio.

Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum is an organization of women dedicated to providing volunteer services, leadership and philanthropy to enrich the communities in North Harris and South Montgomery Counties. CWJF partners with agencies, schools and corporations to fulfill identified needs in education, interaction with an aging population and support for people with disabilities.
