THE WOODLANDS, TX – Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum (CWJF) recently celebrated 40 years of volunteer service with a festive party at The Peach Orchard in The Woodlands.

Many past presidents attended along with current members to honor and celebrate the huge impact CWJF has had in North Houston, The Woodlands, Spring, and Cypress communities. In addition to volunteering through 22 service programs in the surrounding neighborhoods and schools, CWJF has also funded more than 1,000 scholarships. In fact, in the last 40 years that adds up to more than a million dollars in scholarships to graduating senior girls. During the party, another $1,000 was collected for an additional scholarship for this year.

CWJF was formed by 11 founding members who saw a need for women’s service on the north side of Houston. That number has grown to more than 300 active and sustaining members who all follow the motto “making a difference in the lives of children, families, and seniors through heartfelt service.”

Recently, CWJF was honored with the award of Hometown Hero from Interfaith of The Woodlands for its impact on the community.
