Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Investigates Fatal Shooting in Willis

WILLIS, TX -- On September 3, 2020 at about 3:15 PM, Deputies with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting in the 15000 block of Big Bow Bend in Willis, Texas. A male drove to Precinct 1 Constable’s Office in Willis, Texas, where he contacted 911 and stated he wanted to turn himself in for shooting his wife. Precinct 1 Constable Deputies arrived on the scene and detained Austin Vance, a 28-year-old white male, until Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived. Deputies also responded to the residence and located Elizabeth Vance, a 29-year-old white female, deceased in the home with an apparent gunshot wound. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives are investigating. Mr. Vance has been placed into custody for murder and booked into Montgomery County Jail with a $500,000 bond.
