Montgomery County Food Bank Announces New Director of Development, Kathy Rifaat

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Rifaat as its new Director of Development. In her role, Rifaat will oversee the Food Bank’s development department which is responsible for donor relations, fundraising activities, community outreach and marketing and communications initiatives.

Rifaat brings almost 30 years of nonprofit experience to her role. She most recently served as Director of Development for Community Assistance Center, a nonprofit social service organization providing basic needs assistance and case management services to neighbors in need throughout Montgomery County. Prior to her role with Community Assistance Center, Rifaat spent her entire professional career in the nonprofit sector serving others through the Lighthouse of Houston, Interfaith of The Woodlands and Interfaith Community Clinic. Rifaat is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County and has enthusiastically supported many local organizations and causes over the years.

Rifaat holds a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and has been a resident in The Woodlands for over 20 years. Since 2005, Rifaat has volunteered with The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, currently serving on the Chamber’s Diplomat Team and as Team Leader for its Business After Hours events. In past roles at the Chamber, Rifaat served as a member of the Board of Directors and Team Leader for both the Community Relations Team and Chairman’s Ball.

Rifaat’s predecessor, Jamie Dietrich, is moving back to her home state of Arkansas with her husband, Scott, who recently accepted a leadership position at the University of Arkansas. “It has been a true blessing to work with Jamie,” said Marlow. “In her tenure, Jamie brought Montgomery County Food Bank and its development department to great heights. I wish her and her husband the best as they embark on this new and exciting journey in Arkansas. Jamie will be missed dearly.”
