The Woodlands Arts Council announces registration is open for 2024 ‘Making Art Matter’ microgrants
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC) has announced that its annual microgrant program is open for submissions now through October 4. The program enables and supports artistic projects within the Montgomery County community with over $100,000 in impact since 2021.
For the second year, The Woodlands Arts Council Because Art Matters (BAM) Committee is excited to announce a partnership with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. This community partnership brings additional funding earmarked specifically for performing arts projects and applicants.
The 2024 - 2025 cycle offers three opportunities:
- The Dr. David Gottlieb Education Microgrant – Public and private school teachers and arts-related nonprofit organizations in Montgomery County are eligible to apply for grants in the visual arts.
- The Performing Arts Microgrant in partnership with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Organizations, educators, and individuals in Montgomery County may apply for the funding of specific projects which enable more accessibility in the performing arts.
- Artist Microgrant – Individuals or groups may apply for the funding of specific projects or supplies which will enable further growth, or education in the visual arts.
Important 2024 dates for the initiative include:
- September 5, 2024 – Application Opens
- October 4, 2024 – Application Closes
- December 9, 2024 – Applicants notified of funding decisions.
TWAC is offering a virtual Q+A on how to apply for a microgrant on Thursday, September 19, at 5:30 p.m., hosted by Claire Karl, Program Manager, with special guests from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
