At Tachus Fiber Internet, we are committed to providing our customers with the fastest and most reliable internet service possible. But there is one issue that affects not just us but every internet user around the world: net neutrality.
Net neutrality is the principle that all internet traffic should be treated equally, without discrimination or favoritism. This means that internet service providers (ISPs) like us should not be able to block or slow down access to certain websites, apps, or online services or charge extra fees for faster access.
The importance of net neutrality cannot be overstated.Without it, ISPs could prioritize their own services or those of their partners, stifling competition and innovation. They could also throttle or block access to websites that they don't agree with, or that compete with their own offerings. This could have a chilling effect on free speech and the open exchange of ideas.
At Tachus Fiber Internet, we believe in the importance of net neutrality and are committed to upholding this principle. We do not block or throttle access to any website or service, nor do we offer fast lanes or prioritize certain traffic over others. We believe that all internet traffic should be treated equally, and we strive to provide our customers with a level playing field.
Unfortunately, not all ISPs share our commitment to net neutrality. In 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States repealed net neutrality rules that had been put in place in 2015. This decision was widely criticized by internet activists, tech companies, and consumers, who feared that it would lead to a two-tiered internet where only those who could afford to pay extra fees would have fast access to popular websites and services.
As a fiber internet company, we urge policymakers to reinstate net neutrality rules and ensure that all internet users have equal access to the online world. We believe that a free and open internet is essential for innovation, creativity, and democracy, and we will continue to fight for this principle for the benefit of our customers and the wider community.
