School's in session... be aware!

As of this morning, all local school districts are back in session for the 2024-2025 school year. Pay attention to school zones, whether they have flashing lights or not, and know the laws.
Using a cell phone or other device in a school zone can net you up to a $200 fine, and know law enforcement is running radar everywhere they can, so watch the speed. A school zone speed limit is in effect at the exact location of the sign reporting it, so there's no slowing down after the fact.
It's illegal to pass a school bus on either side when its lights are flashing red; the only exception to this is to pass a stopped oncoming bus with flashing reds if it is a multi-lane road separated by a physical median.
