HTX Soccer Attends TOPSoccer Saturday in Round Rock, TX

HTX Soccer was proud to attend the TOPSoccer Saturday coaching education clinic held at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, hosted by South Texas Soccer. The event featured both classroom and on-field sessions aimed at supporting and educating coaches, administrators, and volunteers involved in the TOPSoccer program — a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with cognitive, developmental and/or physical disabilities.
The following three staff attended and are now certified: Keith Johnson – Adaptive Program Director, Phil Ebner – Grassroots Director, David Hubbard - The Woodlands Recreational Director.
“HTX Soccer is the leader in adaptive programming within the Houston soccer community, and that’s why we made it a priority to send three key staff members to attend this event,” said Keith Johnson, Adaptive Program Director. “TOPSoccer Saturday provided an excellent opportunity for our team to deepen their understanding of the program’s structure, goals, and impact. The combination of classroom education and on-field demonstrations helped us connect theory with practice, giving us new tools and ideas to bring back to our local programs. We’re especially encouraged by the resources and support that are becoming increasingly available at both the state and national levels. This type of collaboration and knowledge-sharing is essential for continuing to grow inclusive programming in youth soccer. At HTX, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for all players."
"It was encouraging to attend an event dedicated to serving children that are often forgotten within traditional soccer program models," said Phil Ebner, Grassroots Director. "It was a humbling experience, and we are excited to evolve and expand our service to the families in our Adaptive Soccer Programs."
"The clinic was a great opportunity to listen, learn, and collaborate with educators, participants, and parents," said David Hubbard, The Woodlands Recreational Director. "It was an invaluable and thought provoking workshop that provided ideas and opportunities on how we can work to evolve and improve our Adaptive Soccer initiatives for the players and parents."
The club is very much looking forward to the adaptive summer camps, where players can enjoy a supportive and fun soccer experience, and we’re actively working on expanding our fall season programming. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the chance to play, grow, and be part of the soccer community.
