Years of Pink: A Tradition of Giving, Hope, and Community

Every October, our club proudly turns pink, a symbol of unity, strength, and support for those impacted by breast cancer. What began back in 2012 as a simple effort to raise awareness has blossomed into a powerful annual tradition of giving back. Fourteen years later, our Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign continues to make an incredible difference, both within our club and throughout our local communities.

This fall, during our 14th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, our members once again showed their passion and generosity in raising $33,000. Together, we sold over 1,200 pink shirts and each one representing not only awareness but also hope, love, and community spirit.

The proceeds from the campaign are divided into meaningful areas of support, helping HTX members and staff who are bravely battling cancer and contributing to local organizations that provide vital health care services. This year’s campaign has so far proudly donated to In The Pink of Health / Memorial Hermann Foundation and Theresa’s Research, two organizations deeply committed to supporting breast cancer research, treatment, and recovery.

Since the program’s inception, our club has donated over $170,000 to local charities, with more than 15,400 pink shirts sold and worn by members of our community. Each shirt is more than just a piece of fabric, it’s a symbol of our shared commitment to fighting breast cancer and supporting those affected by it.

We’re especially grateful to our 2025 campaign sponsors, Hunter Family Orthodontics and Theresa’s Research, whose partnership made this year’s success possible. Their generosity helps us continue a mission that touches countless lives and strengthens the spirit of giving that defines our club.

Fourteen years strong, and together, we’ll keep raising awareness, funding research, and spreading hope, one pink shirt at a time. 💗

"It is such an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with HTX Soccer,” said Dr. Ross Hunter of Hunter Family Orthodontics. “The players do a fantastic job of raising awareness throughout October in our community. My mother is fortunately a breast cancer survivor, so it brings me great joy to see all the pink shirts being worn by the athletes, knowing the proceeds go towards finding a cure!”

“It has been a privilege to participate in this important campaign,” said Josh Newby of Theresa’s Research. “It is clear that HTX is deeply committed to the community. The response from everyone who participated has been outstanding, and I know that both patients and researchers will greatly benefit from the campaign.”

“Seeing our community rally together to raise $10,000 for breast cancer awareness reminds us of the power of compassion and teamwork," said Jamie Bolt, ITP 2025 Co-Chair. "We’re deeply grateful for the support and partnership of HTX Soccer that helps bring hope and healing close to home.”

“We are deeply grateful to HTX Soccer for their generous support and for dedicating proceeds from their shirt sales to benefit Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health," said Nicole Preston, ITP 2025 Co-Chair. "Your teamwork off the field is making a meaningful difference in the fight against breast and ovarian cancer. Together, we’re helping save lives and support those on their journey to healing.”

“This program has become a cornerstone of our club’s commitment to giving back,” said Simon Boddison, Director of Soccer Operations. “It’s all about connecting with our families, players, and the communities we serve. I’d like to thank all the players, parents, sponsors, coaching staff, team managers, volunteers, and especially our internal administration team for their incredible effort in delivering this campaign. Together, we’re making a positive impact that reaches far beyond the field.”
