The American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis, and some critical blood types have fallen below a one-day supply. Despite thousands of people stepping up to help, donations are still not keeping pace with hospital demand. Accident victims, patients fighting cancer, those with chronic blood disorders and others across the country may already be feeling the impacts of this crisis.
