ORWALL National Majors advance to finals
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The highlight of Little League, the Majors Division, took center stage on Thursday as Oak Ridge/Woodlands Area Little League (ORWALL) hosted the showdown between ORWALL American and ORWALL National in the semifinals of the District 28 Tournament.
ORWALL National used two big innings to pull away for a 15-2 decision over ORWALL American and advance to the 10 a.m. Saturday finals of the double elimination tournament. ORWALL American could be the opponent again if it defeats Northwest 45 in a 7 p.m. Friday elimination game.
ORWALL National struck for six runs in the second inning and nine more in the third.
Josh French and Benjamin Helton collected three hits apiece and both Darrion Eddie and Clayton Nolen drove in multiple runs.
Hayden Morse went 3 1/3 innings to pick up the win.
Austin Brauweiler and Bryce Lewis drove in runs for ORWALL American.
In the Minors District 28 Tournament, also hosted by ORWALL, the ORWALL National All-Stars stayed alive on Thursday with a 5-2 win over Northwest 45 in an elimination game.
Caleb Kanada earned the win on the mound with 5 1/3 innings pitched and six strikeouts.
ORWALL National advances to the tournament finals at 7 p.m. Friday to face undefeated ORWALL American in the double elimination tournament. An ORWALL National win on Friday would force a deciding game at 10 a.m. Saturday.
