ORWALL National bows 7-2

The Oak Ridge/Woodlands Area Little League (ORWALL) National All-Stars dropped a 7-2 decision to East on Friday at the Big League World Series in Easley, S.C.

The East Region champions scored its seven runs over the first two innings of the game to send ORWALL National, which mustered single markers in the fourth and fifth innings, to 0-3 in World Series play.

ORWALL National finishes up its run at the World Series at 7:30 p.m. Monday when they take on the Central Region champs.

The World Series semifinals are on Tuesday with the championship game set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, nationally televised by ESPN2.

Teams from Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States are competing for the title of Big League Baseball World Champions. It’s the 13th consecutive year for Easley to host the most talented 16-18-year-old players from around the globe.

Barrett Francis had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run while Justin Cassio added a hit and an RBI. Travis Strothman, Branden Navarro and Colyn Gallagher also added a hit apiece for ORWALL National.
