ORWALL out in Majors, Minors tourneys
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – It was not a good night for Oak Ridge/Woodlands Area Little League (ORWALL) All-Star teams on Wednesday.
Two ORWALL National All-Star teams were eliminated from Section 2 play while the ORWALL National Juniors couldn’t hold an early 3-0 lead and fell 4-3 to Channelview in the semifinals of their Section 2 Tournament.
The ORWALL National Majors were eliminated after dropping a 10-0 decision to Jasper in Bridge City while the ORWALL National Minors were eliminated at North Shore with an 8-6 loss to Jasper.
The ORWALL National Juniors, hosting the East Texas Section 2 Tournament, jumped on top of Channelview with a three-run first inning. Cory MacFarlane drove in Zachary Cantu with a single before Cade MacFarlane delivered a two-run single to make it 3-0.
Channelview answered with single markers in the first and third innings before taking the lead with a two-run fifth inning to advance to the 7 p.m. Friday championship game.
ORWALL National must win a 7 p.m. Thursday elimination game against either Bridge City or West End in order to meet Channelview on Friday. A win there would force a second championship game of the double elimination tournament, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.
