MADISONVILLE, TX -- After moving the series opener at Grand Oaks to Friday to finish Game One, a 5-0 win for Cypress Ranch, both teams battled the severe weather before moving Game Two to Madisonville High School. A change in location wasn’t enough for The Woodlands to find some offensive firepower as the Lady Highlanders dropped Game Two 3-0.

The Mustangs’ Britton Rogers battled the tag team of Avery Taylor and Amanda Curran in the pitcher’s circle all game. Both sides kept runs off of the board until the bottom of the fourth inning when Camryn Carmouche singled into left field to bring in the first run of the game. In the fourth, Cy Ranch extended their lead to three, thanks to Emily Strupp’s two-run shot to left field.

The Highlanders failed to unlock the Mustang pitching and defense. The Woodlands struck out 12 times and were able to pick up two hits.

The 2019 season ended with The Woodlands losing back-to-back game for the first time since February. The Lady Highlanders finished with a record of 24-7.
