THE WOODLANDS, TX –- The Woodlands Highlanders hosted the College Park Cavaliers for the 5th game of the district season. The Woodlands, currently 2nd in the district, is wanting to increase their rankings in hopes to catch the flawless Grand Oaks Grizzlies. College Park looks to win to have a positive standing.

College Park got off to an early lead as Saylor Davis, Highlander Pitcher, struggled in the circle. With almost 15 pitches and only 3 strikes in, head Coach Tim Borths decided to put reserve pitcher, Chesney Davis in to replace Saylor. After a struggling with a College Park rally, The Woodlands was finally able to retire the Cavaliers and get their turn to an at bat.

Arriana Wright, College Park pitcher, closed out a couple of batters but was unable to stop an absolute nuke from The Woodlands. With points on the board The Woodlands upped the momentum and gave College Park a hard time in the upcoming innings.

Things heated up in the bottom of the 6th as The Woodlands hit one through the gap to bring a runner home. Unfortunately, a laser beam from the outfield hit its target and College Park made a huge out at home plate. With a couple more pitches College Park was out of the weeds and on to the final inning.

With some accurate pitching, Wright was able to hit all the batters with a 1-2 punch, retiring their rivals at home. College Park battled The Woodlands and prevailed with a 3-2 win.
