The Woodlands Arts Council Welcomes Five New Board Members
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Five community leaders - Jennifer Bruse, Chris Elmi, Amy Reardon, Glen Rector and James Stilwell - have joined the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC), a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide regional cultural and educational enrichment opportunities that encourage, support and promote the performing and visual arts. TWAC produces the annual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival which helps fund thousands of dollars in art scholarships along with other educational and cultural outreach programs throughout the year.
“Our five new members represent an exceptional combination of diverse talents and skills, from marketing to legal, finance and engineering,” said Dr. Maria Holmes, President of the Board of Directors. “They also share a passion for the arts and for The Woodlands community. They will be a great asset to our board and we are thrilled to be working with them.”
Jennifer Bruse is President and CEO of Hello Woodlands, an online resource that provides an exciting overview of what’s happening in and around The Woodlands. Woodlands native Chris Elmi is a Realtor Associate with Heritage Texas. Amy Reardon is a Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking with BBVA Compass.
Involved with The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival from its inception, Glen Rector handles the challenging “load in-load out” process when the artists are setting up and breaking down. He has worked for major corporations and as an entrepreneur in the engineering and construction field. Another talented addition to the board is James Stilwell, Managing Partner of Martin, Earl & Stilwell law firm in The Woodlands.
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2020. Set for April 4 and 5, this juried event features more than 200 artists who display their original works along The Woodlands Waterway and in Town Green Park.
