THE WOODLANDS, TX -- As both Willis High School and College Park competed for a spot in the bi-district playoffs, College Park took the win. In a close match, communication and team cooperation led the females’ volleyball team to close the gap and take it home. Between the sets, College Park took set one 25 - 20, set two 25 - 16, and ended the night 25- 16 in set three, winning the game. Woodlands Online spoke to Coach Collins Gibson after another successful game.

“We were working on a new lineup for this game and I’m so proud of the girls. I felt we could be competitive, and they did a great job,” Gibson said. Since coaching, Coach Gibson has always told her players to find the positive in a situation, especially in games to come.

“The team has grown tremendously this season,” Gibson stated. “Everyone here has put their best efforts to keep the team together and keep it just as strong - I recognize each member trying their hardest to make things work out. We’ve also seen some season-ending injuries recently, but we’ve worked around it.”

“Working together led to our win tonight. As we continue to play as a team, I know we’re just going to have to keep that momentum, keep on going, and keep on getting better every single day,” Gibson concluded.

As College Park holds onto fourth place, beyond just a series of passes, plays, and strikes, the innate team spirit and work ethic contributed to making tonight happen. Don’t forget to stay updated to find future placements for games to come, and stay tuned for more coverage with Woodlands Online.
