THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The College Park Cavaliers hosted the Spring Lady Lions in a bi-district matchup on Tuesday night. Crowds packed the stands on both sides but it was the cheerleaders who would make their presence known.

As soon as the game began the chants from the Spring cheerleaders erupted and filled the gym. It was apparent that Spring came to play as they took the early lead in the first set. College Park struggled on defense and made a couple of errors on some easy returns. Although down, the Cavaliers would keep communicating and would dig their way out of a deep hole.

“More communication is always better, especially in this environment,” said Coach Collins.

With more attacks going their way, College Park chipped away at the lead and took the set 25-14.

They would once again find themselves down in the second set. Spring would dominate the net, tighten up their defense and take the early lead. Spring would also rack up a few aces with some balls barely making it over the net.

College Park would grind and lock up their defense. “We got to stay aggressive and just take care of the ball because they were aggressively coming at us and we can’t back away in this type of situation,” said Coach Collins as College Park began to come back.

The Cavaliers would take the lead and keep it for the remainder of the set. They would easily coast to a second set win, 25-15.

College Park would come out strong in the third set as they controlled the ball and found their rhythm on defense. With the crowd going crazy, Spring tried to chip away at the College Park lead but it was too much. The Cavaliers would take the final set and move on to the Area Round to face Klein Collins or Langham Creek.
