Grogan’s Mill Village Association invites students to apply for its annual scholarships

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Each year, the Grogan’s Mill Village Association, serving on behalf of the residents of the community, raises funds for and awards several scholarships to outstanding local students pursuing higher education. This scholarship is intended to recognize and encourage a spirit of community involvement and good citizenship among students residing in the village.

Scholarships are open to all graduating high school and current college students and who are residents of Grogan’s Mill at the time of application. Applicants must also be in good standing at their school at the time of application. Applicants may attend either a 2- or 4- year college or vocational school.

Scholarships will be awarded based on your application with emphasis on the following criteria:

• Financial need
• A strong sense of community involvement and good citizenship
• Extracurricular or other activities & accomplishments
• Counselor and academic administration recommendations

Applications will be reviewed by the GMVA Board Scholarship Committee consisting of at least three (3) GMVA members or residents. A personal interview of the applicants may also be requested. Only complete applications will be considered. We will invite the winners to a GMVA monthly meeting to be recognized.

Completed applications must be scanned and emailed no later than April 15 of this year. Regular mail can also be used as long as it is postmarked by the deadline date. Final decisions will be made no later than April 30. Winners will be notified of the results and will be presented with an award certificate at your school’s annual award ceremony. Actual scholarship award amount will be credited directly to the student’s account at the college or university once accepted and enrolled.
