Happy Golden Anniversary to The Woodlands!
Today is officially the 50th anniversary to the day of the establishment of The Woodlands. George Mitchell's vision continues from its humber but visionary origins in the mid-1970s.
The Township is celebrating in style, turning the occasion into a weeklong series of commemorative events. So far we've had food drives and a Day of Giving from Interfaith of The Woodlands, an unveiling of a mural featuring local artists, the establishment of a time capsule, and more. Tonight, it's the free concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion featuring Lyle Lovett, Hayes Carll, and Jack Ingram. And tomorror we'll end the week with a massive outdoor festival at both Northshore Park and Huges Landing, culminating with fireworks and a drone show!
We here at Woodlands Online wish to extend our heartiest congratulations to The Woodlands for its first 50 years, and can't wait to see what the next decades bring!
