BRYAN, Texas - The Oak Ridge War Eagles softball team is off to a great start in 2015 and has already gotten a landmark win at the early point in the regular season.

War Eagles take down No. 1 Deer Park

Oak Ridge (6-1) defeated No. 1 Deer Park 3-2, on Friday in their third game of the Bryan Tournament. Starting Pitcher Jessica Rodriguez went a complete game, 6.0 innings while just allowing one earned run to the No. 1 team in the state of Texas. Jessica also threw 20 first-pitch strikes against the Lady Deer.

That win helped carry Oak Ridge to a 5-0 start in the tournament, as the War Eagles defeated Plano 5-4, Alvin 1-0, Melton 6-2, and Brazoswood, 6-5, respectively, before dropping the finale of the tournament to No. 9 Atascocita.

Oak Ridge will open up District play at home on Tuesday, February 24, against Kingwood, weather permitting.
