Lady War Eagles rout Conroe
CONROE, Texas - The Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles may have sent the rest of District 16-6A a message Tuesday night they are a contender, with a 10-0 district home win in five-innings over Conroe on Tuesday night.
Oak Ridge scores 8-runs in first inning
Oak Ridge (12-3, 1-1) had an offensive explosion in the first inning batting around, scoring eight runs off seven hits, including a Cheyenne Cavanaugh home run. Cavanaugh led the Lady War Eagles, going 3-for-3 with 2-RBI’s and two runs scored, in an offense that cranked out 12 hits for the ballgame.
The Lady War Eagles got a solid pitching performance from Carter Spexarth, who went the complete game and scattered just four hits by Conroe, while striking out six in a shutout win.
Oak Ridge will take a break from district play on Thursday, March 5, when they participate in the one-day Cy-Fair Tournament against Langham Creek, Houston Christian, and Willis, before returning to district play at No. 6 Atascocita (10-0, 2-0).
