CONROE, Texas---The Caney Creek Panthers went to battle against Kingwood Park on Friday night at Morehead Stadium.

With four minutes gone by in the first quarter, Daniel Bresko helped Kingwood park get off to a quick start, as he converted a goal-line run which gave Kingwood the first touchdown of the game.

Less than a minute after scoring, Caney Creek fired back and matched Kingwood Park’s points with some of their own, as they ran back a 47-yard kick return tying the scoreboard to 7-7.

Back to back touchdowns were scored by both teams, and Kingwood was quick to score yet another touchdown breaking the tie against the Panthers. With 23 seconds left in the first half, Caney Creek quarterback Julian Hernandez left the game with a head injury and did not return. Backup quarterback Cody Faye came in and played the rest of the game.

Hernandez would end up being our Player of the Game. Hernandez would score the only touchdown for the Panthers on the night, as he would run one in during the first half.

Caney Creek later failed to connect on a field goal against leaving the game to go into the second quarter. Two minutes left on the clock during the second quarter, Kingwood Park continued to successfully put more points on the board.

Kingwood continued to extend its lead by passing for a touchdown right before halftime rolled in. Coming out of halftime, Kingwood Park put together a promising drive that unfortunately ended in a fumble that Caney Creek came away with.

Kingwood Park later tried to regain possession as Caney Creek fumbled, but unfortunately could not corral the ball back. Both teams traded punts throughout the rest of the second half, and Kingwood Park would go on to claim tonight’s victory with the final score of 35-7.
