County Judge ready to implement road bond projects

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Montgomery County Proposition A, otherwise known as the county’s most recent Road Bond, was on the ballot for the May 3 Joint Election. The bond, valued at $480 million, was put forth by all four Montgomery County Commissioners with the thought of sharing the money between the precincts for critical road repair and other infrastructure improvements.
By the end of Election Day, it was apparent that the proposition passed, with 5,760 votes – 52.81% for the proposition and 5,147 – 47.19% – against. Overall, 10,907 votes were cast for this particular proposition out of the 10,995 voters total who hit their polling location or mailed in their ballots. This number of voters represents a turnout of only 2.43% of the 452,309 eligible voters in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough was asked by Woodlands Online about his thoughts on Proposition A passing.
“I’m delighted that the road bond has officially passed; this is a major win for the community and sends a clear message that mobility matters,” he told Woodlands Online. “We are able to make very significant investments as our commissioners have submitted their plans.”
