THE WOODLANDS, TX -- We all leady busy lives with work, family, and other opportunities that feed us holistically to enrich our lives. While many employees and businesses were adjusting to a home office in 2020 there was additional time available to devote to our passions. Research shows the average American worker saved 250 hours in 2020 by not commuting to work. Some of the passions- animal organizations, Homebound Seniors, youth activities, or other nonprofit organizations- were then carried over to the business model as a community engagement program.

Businesses that develop a community engagement program in the area they serve improves morale, teamwork, and communication as well as developing a positive relationship with local consumers. Office Evolution, The Woodlands is very involved in the community as they view that as a part of doing business.

Phil Anderson, partner of Office Evolution- Conroe/Woodlands (OE) stated, “We try to help out local nonprofits with a contest to give them short term office space. That has developed into two of our nonprofits staying long term for the convenience, Bears Etc., and Thrive with Autism Foundation. We support their events in the community, donate funds, and volunteer services. It just makes sense.”

Other organizations supported by Phil Anderson and OE are The Woodlands Rotary, the Montgomery County Food Bank, The Woodlands YMCA as a participant for the Dragonboat Races, and Reveille, a local weekly networking group that gives back to Meals on Wheels, Veterans organizations, and human trafficking among others.

“Rotary is one of my passions because our Club sponsors a Rotary House to assist patients and families by providing low-cost housing while receiving treatment near The Woodlands Medical Center. It’s a win-win for me”, said Anderson. Rotary House serves patients of CHI St. Luke’s Hospital, HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, MD Anderson Treatment Center, Memorial Hermann Medical Center, Methodist Hospital, The Woodlands, and Texas Children’s Hospital, The Woodlands.

Office Evolution engages in the community consistently through their involvement in local Chambers of Commerce (Conroe, The Woodlands and Magnolia) through sponsorships, volunteer services as a Board Director, and events. When you engage in community involvement on a regular basis not only does that build your credibility as a business, but it creates a positive workplace environment. Donating to a local nonprofit is also a tax donation!
